LONDON — European aluminum traders are still in the dark about the 2013 market after recent industry events failed to reveal much about consumers’ plans for the year.
Market participants had hoped that meetings at three recent industry events—the London Metal Exchange’s LME Week, the Aluminium 2012 industry conference in Düsseldorf, Germany, and AMM sister publication Metal Bulletin’s International Aluminium Conference in Moscow—would clarify consumers’ demand levels and lead to progress in long-term supply contract negotiations.....
