Eramet’s sales hit by manganese price fall

NEW YORK — France’s Eramet SA reported a drop in nine-month revenue, which it attributed to a deteriorating price and market environment.

Manganese revenue of €1.13 billion ($1.47 billion) for the first nine months of the year fell 14.2-percent from the first nine months of 2011.

Third-quarter revenue also moved lower, easing 4.5 percent to €380 million ($491.2 million), as falling prices for refined manganese alloys offset rising European spot prices.....
