Aluminum scrap, alloy prices steady

NEW YORK — Free-market aluminum scrap and alloy prices were largely steady Monday, with alloy producers seeking to hold the line on their quotes as scrap prices had yet to fall to profitable levels.

Aluminum used beverage cans (UBCs) were in a range of 70 to 72 cents per pound picked up, down from 72 to 74 cents previously, mill-grade painted siding declined to 71 to 73 cents per pound from 73 to 75 cents....
