Alcoa makes first alumina delivery to Saudi Arabia

NEW YORK — Alcoa Inc. has made its first shipment of alumina to the fully integrated aluminum manufacturing operation at Ras Al Khair, Saudi Arabia, in the latest development of the world’s largest and lowest-cost aluminum complex.

The $10.8-billion project, a joint venture between Alcoa and Saudi Arabian Mining Co. (Ma’aden), consists of an inland bauxite mine as well as a refinery, smelter and rolling mill at a facility on Saudi Arabia’s east coast. The smelter and rolling mill....
