Zinc premiums stall as 2013 talks take over

NEW YORK — Free-market spot premiums for special-high-grade (SHG) zinc and zinc alloys were unchanged Tuesday, with producers saying that most of the focus is on contracts for 2013.

SHG continues to trade with a spot premium of 7.5 to 8.5 cents per pound, while the benchmark No. 3 alloy premium is steady in a range of 16.5 to 18.5 cents per pound.....
