China’s refined copper use to grow 4% in ’12, group says

LONDON — China’s underlying demand for refined copper will grow just 4 percent this year compared with apparent growth of 9 percent, according to the International Wrought Copper Council (IWCC).
The London-based copper fabricators’ association expects China’s apparent demand to reach 8.65 million tonnes in 2012, but about 575,000 tonnes is held as private stock rather than being used in semis production, it said.....
