Nucor, ArcelorMittal boost plate by $50 per ton

NEW YORK — Nucor Corp. and ArcelorMittal USA Inc. have increased transaction prices for plate products by $50 per ton, effective immediately with new orders, the steelmakers said in letters to customers dated Nov. 7.

Chicago-based ArcelorMittal’s increase applies to all plate products.

Charlotte, N.C.-based Nucor said the minimum $50-per-ton increase by its plate group applies to all carbon, alloy and heat-treated plate products. A day earlier, the steelmaker informed customers it was increasing sheet products by the same amount (amm.com, Nov. 6). ....
