NW Pipe’s sales clipped by energy pipe imports

CHICAGO Northwest Pipe Co.s sales slimmed in the third quarter as the company warned that imports of energy tubulars could hurt results from its tubular products business.
But the Vancouver, Wash.-based steel tube and pipe maker also predicted that the fourth quarter could bring a strong showing for its water transmission division.
Consistent with other domestic tubular products producers, we expect continued competition from imports of energy products to reduce profitability for the tubular products....
