Long steel needs supply-demand balance: Irepas

NEW YORK — Steelmakers selling long products in international markets haven’t done enough to balance supply and demand, according to a short-range outlook report by the International Rebar Exporters and Producers Association (Irepas).

This is despite a range of production cuts over the past couple of months, it added.

“The market (in November) is likely to move in line with seasonal expectations but may improve in volumes as it is starting to show signs of recovery,” Irepas said.....
