China’s copper imports fall to 2012 low on Chilean strike

SHANGHAI — China’s copper imports dropped to their lowest level this year in October due to supply disruptions in Chile and unfavorable arbitrage.

The country’s unwrought copper and copper fabricated product imports reached 321,879 tonnes last month, down 18.5 percent from September and off 16.1 percent from a year earlier, according to preliminary customs data.....
