Top stainless mills on board with price boost

NEW YORK — All large domestic flat-rolled stainless steel producers have followed a price hike on 200-, 300- and some 400-series stainless grades.

Ghent, Ky.-based North American Stainless Inc. announced Wednesday that it will hike base prices on 200-, 300- and 430-series cold-rolled stainless flat products by reducing the functional discount by 4 percentage points effective Jan. 1. Some sources said they had received letters outlining the increase as early as last Friday.....
