NY to auction train cars, parts for reuse, scrap

NEW YORK — New York state-owned surplus train cars and parts will be auctioned off Dec. 11 in Rotterdam, N.Y., and Dec. 13 in Scotia, N.Y., New York State Office of General Services (OGS) commissioner RoAnn M. Destito announced Wednesday.

At least 20 train cars and more than 400 parts in various stages of production will be up for auction, including air tanks, motors and doors, as well as passenger, engine and restaurant cars, a spokeswoman for OGS said. ....
