Maine auto recycler agrees to pay environmental fine

PITTSBURGH — Freeport Auto Parts has agreed to pay a fine to the Maine Department of Environmental Protection to resolve alleged environmental problems.

The Freeport, Me.-based salvage yard has signed a consent agreement and has already paid $17,760 for allegedly storing hazardous waste in unsuitable tanks, hiring an unlicensed hazardous waste transporter,....
