PITTSBURGH Midwest Scrap Management Inc. has been issued the necessary approval in Wichita, Kan., to build a scrapyard at a site where it has sought to install a new auto shredder since 2010.
The Wichita City Council approved a conditional-use designation on Dec. 11 to allow a wrecking/salvage yard. In 2011, the request failed to pass a vote before the council, prompting the St. Joseph, Mo.-based recycler to appeal the decision and file a lawsuit in Sedgwick County District Court (amm.com,....
