LONDON — London Metal Exchange chief executive officer Martin Abbott has been appointed co-head of the newly created global markets division of Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing Ltd. (HKEx).

Working with Romnesh Lamba, previously HKEx’s head of market development, Abbott will oversee the equities, fixed income and currencies businesses, as well as the commodities, mainland development and business development and strategy departments, HKEx said in a notice to investors.
