Nonferrous scrap exports fall in November

NEW YORK — Nonferrous scrap exports lost some ground in November as shipments of most major metals fell.

Exports for the nonferrous scrap grades tracked by AMM totaled 281,850 short tons in November, down 11.4 percent from October’s 317,963 tons and 11.6 percent below the 318,878 tons shipped overseas in November 2011, U.S. Commerce Department data show.

The monthly slide sent shipments for the first 11 months of the year to 3,365,998 tons, down 2.6 percent from the same period a year earlier.....
