Titanium shipment fall clouds course for year

LOS ANGELES — U.S. titanium shipments fell year on year in the third quarter of 2012, leaving the possibility of a third consecutive year of record shipments in doubt.

Net mill product shipments reached 10,600 tonnes (about 23.4 million pounds) in the third quarter, down 4.5 percent from 11,100 tonnes in the same year-ago period but up 5 percent from 10,100 tonnes in the second quarter of last year, according to data released this past week....
