Eight automotive suppliers to expand Mich. operations

CHICAGO The Michigan Strategic Fund has approved state incentives to support expansions at eight automotive parts and systems manufacturers. The companies are planning to invest nearly $500 million combined and create almost 3,000 jobs.
The state approved $1.6 million in incentives for Sindelfingen, Germany-based Cosma International to open a $162-million casting components and systems facility in Battle Creek, Mich., which will employ up to 572 people.
Southfield, Mich.-based Denso International America Inc., which designs and engineers powertrain, climate controls, body electronics and safety products, will invest $45.7 million to expand its new-product research and development operations in Southfield, creating 176 jobs. Denso won a $1.54-million grant.....
