Scrap price indices inch higher in January

CHICAGO Copper scrap pricing rose 1.8 percent in January following a 5.3-percent gain in December, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics latest producer price index (PPI) report.
The copper scrap index was put at 620.3 last month, up from Decembers figure of 609.2, not seasonally adjusted, while the PPI for copper and brass mill shapes inched up 0.6 percent to 434.7 after climbing 1.5 percent in December.....
