NEW YORK — Steelmakers across the Midwest and Northeast appeared largely unaffected by the snowstorm sweeping through the region, with production and operations at most sites remaining normal.

The snowstorm that started to blanket the Chicago region late March 5 hit Washington early March 6, shutting down federal offices, bringing power lines down and forcing thousands of flights to be delayed or canceled.....
