Stainless steel prices up, but demand mixed

NEW YORK — Stainless steel prices rose slightly alongside March surcharges, although many buyers are holding off in anticipation of lower tags in April, market participants said.

Prices for Type 304 cold-rolled sheet increased to $1.36 per pound from $1.35 a month ago, while Type 316L moved up to $1.88 from $1.87 per pound.....
