Metalformers’ optimism fades slightly

CHICAGO — Mirroring sentiments from nearly all other links in the manufacturing supply chain, metalformers say they’re doing well—if they’re selling into the auto industry. Otherwise, they are waiting for other end-use markets to pickup.
The number of Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) members surveyed in April who believe that the pace of general economic activity will drop over the next three months increased by 10 percentage points over the March survey, while the number of those who say there will be an upswing in activity fell by 8 percentage points in the same comparison. ....
