US ferrous scrap exports rise in February

NEW YORK — U.S. ferrous scrap exports in February rose marginally from the same month last year as China’s return to the market helped compensate for lower shipments to other large consumers such as Canada, India, South Korea, Thailand and Turkey.

Exporters shipped nearly 1.89 million tonnes of ferrous scrap in February, up 1.5 percent from 1.86 million tonnes a year earlier and 23.2 percent ahead of 1.53 million tonnes in January, according to the latest U.S. Commerce Department data.....
