Banker Steel expansion set for production

NEW YORK Structural steel fabricator Banker Steel Co. will begin producing remotely constructed building modules at its 50,000-square-foot expansion in Lynchburg, Va., next week as the company sets its sights on a growing market.
The $2-million expansion will allow the company to produce rectangular building modules as part of a contract for a $4.9-billion development in Brooklyn, N.Y., a company spokesman told AMM. The modules will be manufactured in Virginia using tubular steel and wide-flange beams and assembled in Brooklyn into a 32-story building. ....
