Fire at Nichols facility causes ‘minimal’ damage

CHICAGO A fire in an external wall at Nichols Aluminum LLCs Lincolnshire, Ill., facility was quickly extinguished and production was largely unaffected, according to a local fire chief.
The blaze broke out at about 9:20 am local time May 7. Fire crews responded within two minutes, and the blaze was extinguished by approximately 9:40 am, Fire Chief Fred Kruger of the Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District told....
