Japanese steelmakers’ focus turns to intermediate exports

TOKYO Japanese steelmakers are expected to increasingly focus their exports on intermediate products rather than high-grade processed ones, a senior industry executive told AMM sister publication Steel First.
In the first three months of 2013, semifinished product exports rose 29.8 percent year on year to 1.56 million tonnes, while hot-rolled sheet shipments increased 28.8 percent to 3.08 million tonnes.....
