Gerdau seeks to expand Ontario shredder landfill

PITTSBURGH Gerdau is a step closer to increasing the size of a Whitby, Ontario, landfill that accepts residue from its auto shredder operation.
The Durham Planning and Economic Development Committee is recommending that the steelmaker be permitted to increase the landfill on its property to cover 59 acres, up from 37 acres....
