Stainless scrap prices steady as market slows

NEW YORK — Stainless steel scrap broker/processor buying prices were unchanged this week, with sources saying that scrap dealers are increasingly likely to hold onto material until profit margins improve.

Prices for 316 solids were steady at $2,050 to $2,105 per gross ton, 304 solids and clips at $1,400 to $1,450 per ton and 430 solids at $425 to $450 per ton. ....
