Vari-Form lands GM aluminum rail contract

CHICAGO Vari-Form Inc. plans to begin production of all-aluminum hydroformed frame rails for General Motors Co.s new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray this summer, the company said.
The 2014 Corvette Stingray will see "substantial structural changes," allowing the vehicle to shed 99 pounds and boost rigidity by 57 percent compared with the previous models steel structure, Troy, Mich.-based Vari-Form said May 29.....
