Lifting equipment producer Manitex wins Navy contract

CHICAGO — A subsidiary of lifting-equipment manufacturer Manitex International Inc. has won a five-year contract to supply the U.S. Navy with rough-terrain straight-mast forklift equipment.

Woodbridge, Ontario-based Manitex Liftking ULC said it will design, test and supply two equipment variants, with 5- and 10- ton capacities, that can be shipped by air, ford various depths of water and absorb up to 50G simulated shockwave forces.....
