Copper, brass service centers resist increase

NEW YORK — Copper and brass service centers have been able to evade higher fabrication charges by negotiating with the mills, distributor sources said.
In the past two months, Louisville, Ky.-based Olin Brass Inc., Buffalo N.Y.-based Aurubis Buffalo Inc., Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based PMX Industries Inc. and Rome, N.Y.-based Revere Copper Products Inc. have raised fabrication prices citing rising labor, health care, utilities and transportation costs, among other issues (amm.com, May 15). ....
