Copper, brass service centers resist increase

NEW YORK Copper and brass service centers have been able to evade higher fabrication charges by negotiating with the mills, distributor sources said.
In the past two months, Louisville, Ky.-based Olin Brass Inc., Buffalo N.Y.-based Aurubis Buffalo Inc., Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based PMX Industries Inc. and Rome, N.Y.-based Revere Copper Products Inc. have raised fabrication prices citing rising labor, health care, utilities and transportation costs, among other issues (amm.com, May 15). ....
