US scrap export prices dip on stronger dollar

NEW YORK — U.S. bulk ferrous scrap export tags fell at the start of June after logging declines during every week of May, as weak demand and a stronger dollar dictated market levels.

Export prices have been deteriorating for the past three months, influenced by similar trends in the domestic market and weakening demand from Asian and Turkish producers struggling to book meaningful finished steel sales in several product segments.....
