CarTech replaces furnaces in plant upgrade

NEW YORK — Carpenter Technology Corp. is undertaking a $20-million upgrade at its Reading, Pa., site, that will include the replacement of two furnaces to better produce high-temperature alloys for the specialty steel market.

The replacement of the two furnaces is part of Carpenter’s "continuing need for increased capacity for high-temperature heating of our alloys," Matthew Enoch, vice president of manufacturing at the company’s Reading operations, told AMM.....
