Weitsman suing trucker, yard over missing scrap

PITTSBURGH Weitsman Shredding LLC is suing a trucking company to recover the value of a container load of copper and steel wire from shredded electric motorspopularly known as "meatballs"earmarked for export that was seized, released and then went missing.
The wholly owned division of Upstate Shredding LLC-Ben Weitsman & Son Inc. retained East Stroudsburg, Pa.-based J&S Trucking in December to transport a container filled with 49,680 pounds of shredder pickings valued at $27,572, according to the lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in New Jersey.
