Midwest P1020 aluminum premiums hold

CHICAGO — Midwest P1020 aluminum premiums held steady over the past week, although market participants are increasingly bullish about the market rising in coming months.

AMM’s Midwest aluminum premium remained in a range of 11.5 to 12 cents per pound.

One consumer said he had recently concluded a deal for 500 tons at 11.6 cents per pound, but said he expected premiums to rise in the coming weeks because of what he described as a "tight" metal market in the Midwest as well as the South.....
