Despite loss, Navistar ups its output of Class 8 trucks

CHICAGO Truck and engine builder Navistar International Corp. reported a net loss of $374 million in the quarter ended April 30, more than double the $172-million loss it posted in the same period last year. Meanwhile, revenue fell 22.5 percent to $2.53 billion, reflecting lower market share and a 14-percent drop in industry demand.
"We are not satisfied with our financial results, but we are pleased with the progress we made on our turnaround plan," president and chief executive officer Troy A. Clarke said in a June 10 call with investors. ....
