LONDON — The sale of BHP Billiton Plc’s Pinto Valley copper mine in Arizona to Capstone Mining Corp. has been approved by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Anti-trust Improvements Act.

Vancouver, British Columbia-based Capstone announced April 28 that it had entered into an agreement with BHP’s copper division to purchase the Pinto Valley mining operation and the associated San Manuel Arizona Railroad Co. for $650 million (amm.com, April 29).....
