NEW YORK — Metals industry veteran Michael Falso has been named president of Armonk, N.Y.-based specialty wire distributor InterWire Group.

Falso, most recently president of semi-finished copper alloy product importer and distributor Vero Specialty Metals LLC, has held a variety of roles at nonferrous and specialty metals companies, including the former Phelps Dodge Corp., Commercial Metals Co., Stebco Inc. and MCP Group SA, which was acquired by 5N Plus Inc. in 2011.

Falso succeeds former InterWire Group president Frank Cardile Jr., who died in January following a long battle with cancer.

InterWire operates seven distribution centers in the United States and Mexico, serving a number of end-use sectors, including aerospace, agricultural, automotive, electronics, HVAC, lighting and medical.
