NEW YORK — Tenaris SA said it is supplying its TenarisHydril Wedge 623 Dopeless and Blue Riser connections to Royal Dutch Shell Plc for the oil producer’s Olympus tension leg platform in the Gulf of Mexico.

"We are very pleased to accompany Shell in this deepwater project, where reliability is a must," Julie Mathis, Tenaris’ technical sales manager for the United States, said in a statement.

The Wedge 623 connections were designed to comply with recent changes in deepwater operating requirements in the Gulf of Mexico, according to the Luxembourg-based tube and pipe maker.
