Midwest recycler hoping to have OSHA penalty reduced

NEW YORK — Midwest scrap company Midland Davis Corp. is facing a penalty of $64,680 after being cited by the U.S. Labor Department’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for 19 alleged safety violations.

Martin Davis, president of the Moline, Ill.-based recycler, told AMM that the company is hopeful the penalty will be reduced because it has already corrected most of the alleged violations and is in the process of remediating the few remaining issues.....
