GTP halts buying of tungsten from Colombia

LONDON News of potentially compromised tungsten coming out of Colombia will likely not have a major impact on the market.
Global Tungsten & Powders (GTP) announced it had suspended its activities in Colombia effective immediately after it received information suggesting that the integrity of its tungsten supply chain in the country may have been compromised.
However, statistics from the International Tungsten Industry Association showed that just 124 tonnes of tungsten were exported from Colombia in 2012, meaning market participants can rest assured that already-straitened supplies will not be tested further. ....
