Paranapanema set to end copper cathode enterprise

SÃO PAULO Brazilian copper producer Paranapanema SA plans to stop selling copper cathodes and use the material to increase its output of semifinished products, according to interim chief executive officer Edson Monteiro.
"Paranapanemas strategy of expanding its production capacity of wires and rebars prioritizes the domestic market, which presents an increasing demand for semifinished copper products of high quality," the company said in a filing with the São Paulo Stock Exchange.....
