Rio Tinto raises 2013 copper output guidance

LONDON Global miner Rio Tinto Plc has raised its copper output forecast for 2013 by 25,000 tonnes compared to the estimate made in April after a wall slide at the companys Bingham Canyon Mine in Utah.
Recovery at the mine is advancing faster than previously expected, the U.K.-headquartered company said in a production statement released on July 16.
In 2013, Rio Tintos share of mined and refined copper production is expected to be approximately 565,000 tonnes and 230,000 tonnes, respectively, the company said. ....
