Commerce launches probe on threaded rod imports

NEW YORK — The Commerce Department’s International Trade Administration (ITA) has initiated an anti-dumping duty investigation on steel threaded rod from India and Thailand and a countervailing duty investigation on the same product from India.

The petitioners—Denver-based All America Threaded Products Inc., Brentwood, Calif.-based Bay Standard Manufacturing Inc. and Pelham, Ala.-based Vulcan Threaded Products Inc.—have alleged dumping margins range from 17.93 to 119.87 percent for Indian material and 63.16 to 74.90 percent for Thai product.

The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) is scheduled to make a preliminary injury decision by Aug. 12.
