Gerdau SBQ treatment line to open in Aug.

NEW YORK Gerdau Special Steel North America is nearing completion of a 15,000-ton-per-year treatment line at its Huntington, Ind., facility to serve an emerging electric power steering automotive market.
The new line will source hot-rolled special bar quality (SBQ) steel produced in Monroe, Mich., and provide heat-treatment capabilities, in addition to polishing and stressing, straightening and cutting. The expansion includes a fifth line for the quench and temper process, a new crane and a new building for the extra equipment.....
