China's ferrous scrap imports up, others fall in June

SHANGHAI — China’s steelmaking raw material imports mostly fell in June, although ferrous scrap bucked the trend with a 12.7-percent month-on-month gain to nearly 384,157 tonnes, according to Chinese customs data released July 22.

Buyers gradually returned to the market in late May after international scrap prices had been falling for almost three months, market participants told AMM sister publication Steel First.....
