Century Aluminum loss nearly triples as weak market, LME weigh

CHICAGO — Century Aluminum Co. anticipates higher aluminum prices despite global economic uncertainty as well as the potential impact of proposed warehousing changes by the London Metal Exchange.

The Chicago-based aluminum company conceded that a strong U.S. dollar had hurt commodity prices, but said that solid U.S. transportation and construction markets had offset China’s slowing economy and struggling markets in Europe and elsewhere.....
