Century seeks similar power deals for Ky. smelters

CHICAGO Century Aluminum Co. wants to model a new power deal for its Sebree, Ky., smelter on one under consideration by officials for its Hawesville, Ky., smelter.
Executives at the Chicago-based aluminum producer said the potential deals, which would see both facilities buy power on the open market, would reduce cash costs at its U.S. operations by $180 per tonne and make Century "breakeven" at a London Metal Exchange aluminum price of approximately $1,750 per tonne.....
