Republic Steel to move inspection line, furnace nears start-up

CHICAGO Republic Steel has begun engineering work to relocate a quality verification line to its Lackawanna, N.Y., plant from Canton, Ohio, a company spokesman told AMM Aug. 2.
The Lackawanna plant, which rolls 13-inch round special bar quality (SBQ) steel, already has one such inspection line, but the steelmaker said it is assessing the value of equipment and putting it where its needed most.....
