Welspun sues insurer over extra pipe costs

NEW YORK Welspun Pipes Inc. and Welspun Tubular LLC have filed a lawsuit against Liberty Mutual Fire Insurance Co. for allegedly failing to reimburse the companies for costs incurred in completing a customer order after a plant fire halted production at Welspuns Little Rock, Ark., facility for more than two months last year.
The July 14 fire, which nearly destroyed the plants control room, halted production just as Welspun was obligated to produce an order for Seaway Crude Pipeline Co. LLC, according to the suit filed in U.S. District Court in Arkansas.....
